“The Story of Fuck” (censored to F*** for obvious reasons) is a movie about the worst band in the history of the world accidentally getting signed to a $2,000,000 record contact. It has some pertinent things to say about the ludicrous nature of the modern music industry. The film is pretty ludicrous itself, bouncing from one nonsensical scene to another with no thought to coherent narrative or logical structure. It is a total fustercluck of a film that can safely be skipped if you ever run across it on TV.
The only reason I found the film is because of my feverish crush on Tamsin Egerton. I could watch her drumming her fingers for ninety minutes and still give it a decent rating. The beautiful Brit is a mesmerizing actress who can handle comedy, action, drama and romance with ease. She is a megastar on the verge of booming.
However, despite bringing some dignity and class to the proceedings, Egerton can’t quite elevate this movie to watchable status. “The Story of F***” is one of those films that just can’t stop trying too hard. It is poorly written and haphazardly directed. It is a fucking mess.
