“The Americans” Trailer

I just watched the pilot episode of “The Americans” — a new cold war espionage series on FX.   It premiered on Wednesday, Jan 30th and has received almost universally glowing reviews.

Quite frankly, it might be the best pilot I’ve seen since “Mad Men” or “24″ debuted some years ago.

It stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as sleeper Russian agents who are living “normal” lives as a married couple with two children in Washington DC.  Noah Emmerich plays the FBI agent who moves into the house across the street.

I love the cold war spy genre and think that the premise of this show is morally complex and promises to deliver some fantastic storytelling.

Make sure to seek this show out on FX… you will not regret it.
