Original family name Anastassakis; changed when her family moved to the US from Greece.
Raised in Greece and New York City.
Attended Fiorello La Guardia School of Music, Art & Performing Arts, New York City. Also known as the 'Fame' School.
By 1993, she was floundering. Then, in 1994, a pilot called "Friends Like These" came along. Originally asked to audition for the role of Monica, Aniston refused and auditioned for the role of Rachel Green, the suburban princess turned coffee peddler. It was a good career move - The role in "Friends" would eventually lead to her earning over $1,000,000.00 per episode.
