• Born on August 29th, 1971 in Sarasota, FL.

• Carla is 5' 6'' Tall.

• Her parents split when she was very young.  She moved with her mother to Paradise, California, when Carla was just five years old.  She had a kidney operation when she was only 4 years old.  She was a tomboy as a child.

• Growing up shuttling between her divorced parents' vastly different worlds probably helped Gugino with her acting chops. "My mother was kind of a hippie, although she doesn't admit it, and my father was a very established orthodontist in Florida.  I lived in a tepee and in a suburban home.  I think the variation between the two gave me a great perspective on the world."

• She used to go to Europe in the summers of her youth and also attended a private school for a while.

• She was a straight-A student throughout high school and graduated as valedictorian.

• A major modeling agency discovered Carla in San Diego and sent her to New York to begin a new career when she was 15.

• Carla got started in showbiz by doing lots of TV work in the 1980's.  After a good start to her film career, she has since returned to the smaller medium as a regular on the hit show 'Chicago Hope'.

• Our lovely girl has had guest spots on many hit TV shows including 'Who's the Boss?', 'Alf', 'Falcon Crest', 'Ferris Bueller', 'Doogie Howser M.D.', 'The Wonder Years', 'Quantum Leap' & 'Spin City'.

• She was cast in Bon Jovi's video "Always".

• Carla is a spokeswoman and model for L'Oreal cosmetics.

• She is the star of her own TV show on ABC which airs on Wednesday nights.  Carla plays the lead character in 'Karen Sisco', a strong, sexy and smart U.S. Marshall living in Florida.  The first episode premiered on October 1st, 2003 and was greeted by rave reviews.

• She has said, "It's easy to be stereotyped in this business, so I'm trying to get my hands on as many different roles as I can."

• Carla is looking to move beyond her roles in front of the camera and take a bigger role as a producer.

• During her free time, Carla enjoys yoga, traveling and spending time with her friends in Los Angeles.  She also enjoys bird-watching.
