“Chloe” Review

October 2, 2010  |  Movies, Reviews

Here is a new entry in the “Fatal Attraction” genre, featuring a bunny boiling performance from Amanda Seyfried, who is fast becoming the new Hollywood “It Girl” after a lengthy run of charming roles in good movies.  Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson are just about the best second fiddles any director could hope for, playing a married couple who is plagued with suspicions of infidelity.  That director is Atom Egoyan — and he crafts a nifty little thriller that works far better than the myriad other clones of the aforementioned 1987 Michael Douglas / Glenn Close classic.  There are only so many ways that a film like this can twist itself into a pretzel… but “Chloe” manages to do it with nail-biting style and elegant aesthetics.  It all makes for a worthwhile late night rental as you curl up on the sofa with a bottle of wine and an non-psychopathic partner.
