“Amadeus” Review

September 10, 2010  |  Movies, Reviews

“I speak for all mediocrities in the world. I am their champion. I am their patron saint.”

The film is so entertaining and the acting so precise that one might forget that the script may not be the most historically accurate portrayal of the musical genius. Also I believe that this film would be more accurately titled ‘Salieri’ as it is more a story of his jealousy and his loathing of the genius who overshadowed him… Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

This film won the Academy award over the superior ‘The Killing Fields’ in 1984 but I still agree that it is one of the classic films of the decade and will be remembered many years from now. Abraham won an Oscar for his performance and it is one of the best examples of acting I have ever seen.
